Legacy Environmental Services manages two U.S. Department of Energy Clean Cities coalitions, South Shore Clean Cities and Wisconsin Clean Cites. The nearly 100 Clean Cities coalitions are organizations designed to reduce petroleum consumption in the transportation sector.
The coalitions achieve this in a number of ways, including the advancement of alternative fuels, alternative fuel vehicles and sustainable vehicle technologies such as electric vehicles and their charging infrastructure. The efforts reduce the nation’s dependence on imported oil, improve air quality, support local jobs, drive economic development and promote improved quality of life.
Clean Cities has saved more than 8.5 billion gallons of petroleum since its inception in 1993.
Public, private and nonprofit entities collaborate with Clean Cities to implement sustainable transportation solutions.
